Review of the American Express, American Express Credit Card:

Customer service level of zero

I received my British Airways American Express card and set up a direct debit to pay off the full sum when it became due. Amex did not take the funds when they were due and subsequently sent me a letter advising they were charging me interest and a surcharge and threatened further action. I telephoned and they apologised for their error but advised they were not able to remove the interest from my account. I cancelled the card which required over thirty minutes on the telephone with an unhelpful person the other end. I also paid the balance. They then refunded the card fee. A month or so later they advised I owed them £16.44 but no reason given as to why. Despite two letter from me they continue threatening action. I shall write to Hannah Lewis who is their CEO I the UK. My advice is do not get an American Express Card, especially as nobody wants to take anyway. Reviewed on: 17th September 2024

Terrible company that doesn't care

American express are a company that doesn't care about their customers. They do not read customers communications and they do not communicate. I would highly recommend staying away from the brand. Reviewed on: 13th January 2023

Platinum Cashback card

Well it's amex

App is quite good. Plenty of schemes and offers. Only issue is being AMEX it can't be used everywhere. Reviewed on: 26th February 2022

It's so much good that you will stop using any other cards.

The best thing about having AMEX is that you never wait several minutes to connect to the customer service team. The max time I have ever waited is like 2-3minutes. Issues are solved on the spot no waiting or call later kind of silly responses. Customer agent knows that he/she is doing or needs to do. Reviewed on: 27th January 2022

Great customer service and fraudulent identification in.

I’ve had issues with chargers and they are great to get refunds. Also identified a fraudulent transaction before processing a 3,250 US dollar charge for an online reservation with Philippine Airlines. Reviewed on: 14th June 2021
