Simple application, easy to use website

Easy to arrange and good value

I recently passed my driving test and although not young (28) I struggled to find cover on a comparison site for under £1000. I tried the Aviva site and got it for under £400 (although I added some extras so came to just over this). The quote was easy to get and the info clear - they even sent a text you could keep on your phone with your policy number and contact details. It was also far easier to use than the comparison sites and the cover was better (some dreadful hidden excesses on other sites). Overall very impressed and I got £80 cash back through quidco. Viva L'Aviva

I came across Aviva last year on a price comparison site. I ended up going through a cashback site instead and using the Aviva website directly. I found getting a quote easy enough to do, quite similar to most sites really, but it seemed that little more straightforward and quick to do. You can save the quote or set up an account, and the site offers a range of information on the products and services they provide. Buying the insurance was easy to do and you get a My Aviva account. To minimise paper, you can have all of your documents in your account online. I wasn't sure about this first, but it actually works well; I can find what I need, save it to my own computer, access it any time. I didn't have endless calls or emails from them, just a courtesy call afterwards to make sure I was happy. The price quoted was actually very decent compared to competitors, and the renewal price beat what I could find online too, so I've stuck with them for another year, something I've not done before. All in all, pretty happy with them, but I can't comment much further than the purchase process as I've not made claims, changed details etc with them. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Brilliant online experience

I was looking around for cheap car insurance and I found the website so easy to use. All questions were set out and easy to answer. Once you filled in the questions the cost at the end was easy to understand and also you had the option to add other products onto the package if you wanted too. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Much cheaper than you'd expect

I needed multi car insurance for my Polo and my husband's Golf. We'd previously been with Admiral, but the renewal price was silly, so I used every comparison site going. No outstanding deals, so I decided to try going direct to people like Direct Line who don't use the comparison sites. Eventually wound up with Aviva, who were considerably cheaper than everyone else. I got cashback through Quidco, which made the deal even better. We've had no problems with them at all, and all our documents were available online from the minute we paid for the policy, which has been a great time saver. Happy? Maybe?

Strange experience with aviva. I had insured my car with them for several years and was happy with the price and the service. I bought a new car and to make things easier with transfer of number plates etc. I purchased a new insurance policy through the dealership but it was still with Aviva. It was over £100 cheaper than I could purchase directly! I know it happens but it doesn't make sense. I wasn't sure whether to be happy for the cost reduction or annoyed that I had been quoted more. A bit expensive but no problems

I had Aviva as it was the cheapest insurance I could find, I never needed to use it, but when it came time to renew, they were not very accommodating, they eventually offered a £60 discount when I told them I had much better offers from other insurers. In the end I switched as I could get Fully-comprehensive insurance elsewhere for almost half the price. Reviewed on: 10th August 2015
