I have recently taken over a small businessnand have spent literally hours on the phone trying to sort out online banking, duel authorization, telephone banking and problems with the mandate. I have been in branch too and nobody is very helpful. Hours on hold calling their helpline to then get little help at the end!

Won't go near a Barclays ever again

Very unhelpful, both in person, on the phone, and online. Promised information never arrived. Impossible to find out anything online, made to go through hoops - catch 22 hoops in my case as they hadn't sent me the information I needed to answer their security...

Very unhelpful, both in person, on the phone, and online. Promised information never arrived. Impossible to find out anything online, made to go through hoops - catch 22 hoops in my case as they hadn't sent me the information I needed to answer their security questions. In-branch is entirely inappropriate environment for doing ANY banking - business or private - with staff avoiding you, no queuing system, and then you confidential financial details discussed loudly in the open floor area. A truly horrible experience.

Really awful. Mistakes, potentially (because of my personal circumstances) putting me in actual physical danger, as (entirely unknown to me) they used the wrong details, the wrong address from a long closed account. I ended up getting compensation (though no proper apology) - this is just 4 weeks after I opened the account. What a start.

Then no interest in helping me to get some cashflow finance sorted - my Business Manager was dismissive and I got no support at all.

And counter staff unhelpful and surly when I tried to change some money.

Website seems ok, but on a personal basis, terrible. I will be looking elsewhere once I have summoned up the courage to actually try and close the account.
