Stay away, they are a joke!!!

Shocking service regarding mortgage application, clueless under informed staff, arrogant manager. Made a complain- they never replied. Complain about that (!) was told that Clydesdale doesn't have a timescale to reply for complaints. Read between the lines: " We don't care about you or your complaints". That is a statement from their website: We won’t charge you for raising a complaint. That is a sick joke!!! Reviewed on: 8th June 2017

Poor customer service/ ridiculous fraud dept

Recently changed jobs and after receiving first pay in bank they froze my account furnace to the payment from the new company being paid in euros. I have worked all over the world an been paid in multiple currencies and never had an issue. was told that I need to tell the bank who I’m working for , where my pay is coming from and for how much each month. This is bull ! And not stated in the t&c’s I was left stranded in west Africa without access to my bank ! left for days without a penny. Service centre refused to let me talk with anyone in the relative department as the do not “discuss investigations” with the customer. I am disgusted by the way Clydesdale have treated me and feel alienated. in the process of finding a different bank due to the lack of professionalism and pure disregard for serious issues. was not given a time frame on when it would be resolved , simply told that I have to wait until their investigation has been completed. Stay away from Clydesdale bank at all costs ! horrible customer service and lack of knowledge. Reviewed on: 26th January 2018

Customer service issues, but a brilliant complaints department

I had serious issues switching to the Clydesdale bank. A small problem with my current account switch became a major headache due to hour-long holds on the phone, calls being dropped and being given numbers with long wait-times to call the switching team back on. I made a formal complaint and was dealt with personally and professionally. My experience with the complaints department led me to choose to continue my switch to the Clydesdale Bank in spite of a poor experience earlier. If only all their departments could work this way! Closing branches

I was very happy with everything in my local branch, however this has now closed, making it very difficult to pay in cheques etc. Now there is no reason not to use the online banks which offer better deals. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

Feel committed, have rolling Car Loan of £21k @3.5%

Been with 53 years. Local Branch closed 10years ago.Now hole in wall.Use Telephone banking, Direct Debit & Standing Orders to control expenditure. Keep accounts in credit of 1p so no charges. Dont see any advantage in switching. Reviewed on: 4th October 2017

Don't move

I moved to Clydesdale bank six months ago and don't get me wrong they warn you about the high fees for missed payments and going over your account but they don't even give you until 2 to put the money in without being charged Reviewed on: 7th May 2017
