At Smart Money People, we've been using the power of reviews from consumers like you since 2014 to help change and improve financial services. It can be extremely frustrating, and often expensive when things go wrong as a Santander customer - whether it's about your main bank account, savings, mortgages, or any other Santander financial product, you want resolution, and quickly. If they've disappointed you, sometimes it feels like the only way to move forward is to escalate your dissatisfaction with a company in the form of a complaint. That's why we want to improve the way that companies deal with complaints from customers.

How do I make a Santander complaint?

Santander has control freaks working their telephones. Luke was demanding, insulting, obnoxious and disrespectful. Just pathetic really. I’ll never use Santander again.

They do not care about you! Avoid at all costs. I'm being made homeless on Friday due to the amount of time being taken by Santander. I started my house move process in May. Got my final bit to sign from the solicitors in August. Told my landlord i would be out on 22/10/2021. He now has tenants moving in on that date. I have no family or friends to stay with and any money i do have now will now need to be spent on a hotel while all my possessions sit in my van outside. I just called and explained my situation again and got hung up on. I've gone to write this review and did not realise how bad the reviews are for Santander. They are shocking! I feel sick from the worry of being out on the streets. And seeing these reviews scare the life out of me. Sort it out Santander either get more staff or only take on more work when you have enough people to work it.

Terrible bank.

They blocked my access to my account randomly after months of use. I can’t access my money. If I didn’t have another bank account elsewhere I’d be in trouble. I’ll never use Santander again.

Waste of time and avoid at all costs as they will rip you off

Avoid a mortgage with these people as they will 100% try and rip you off and just because they have nice suits and offices, does not mean they are not utter scam... Read more

Avoid a mortgage with these people as they will 100% try and rip you off and just because they have nice suits and offices, does not mean they are not utter scam merchants.
beware and spend some time looking at alternatives and it will save you "£1000's in the long term

I am trying to get an additional loan on my property and the underwriters are asking silly question one month into the process it still hasn't progressed. Why can't they just call me is could be sorted in miniutes not months. The online portal says they will get back to you with in one day, forget is you won't hear back from them for days if at all. Absolute Nightmare!!!

I am an existing mortgage customer with Santander, switched over from another bank. I regret the decision so much! Currently on the phone still waiting to be connected. The first time I called, it just disconnected after 15 minutes randomly, my second call-in took another 15 minutes for someone to pick up and the person who answered was so abrasive, eventually got through to someone else who was more pleasant to deal with but couldn't help me. Asked to call me back, within 3 days, and as usual no direct line to call my mortgage advisor. Just really bad service, I expect more and cannot wait to change banks.
