Worst company to deal with

The price of the insurance was the best I could find so I went with it. I didn't have any problems with them until I got in an accident. I was clearly not at fault and there was cctv to prove that, but the company who owned it said only my insurance...

The price of the insurance was the best I could find so I went with it. I didn't have any problems with them until I got in an accident. I was clearly not at fault and there was cctv to prove that, but the company who owned it said only my insurance can claim to see it. Even after telling them that, both on the phone and by writing, drivesmart did nothing in order to get the footage. They did not contact the other person's insurance company either. Then they refused to give me my no claim bonus as they still said I am at fault. In the end I hired my own solicitors which deal with the case and proved that I was not at fault. Drivesmart is not going to bother you will the how you drive, but God help you if you get in an accident and need their protection.

At the point of the accident the initial experience was very good. The car was picked up by the approved garage the next day and we were phoned to say their assessment was submitted the following day. Despite several calls per week to check progress it then took nearly a month for the company to acknowledge they had the report. They then sent a chequered without any communication or discussion of their offer (car was a right off). Despite being told that we wanted to take the car back the company has done nothing to assist even suggesting we contact the black box company to find out where the car was as a salvage company has taken it from their approved garage.....we are still trying to retrieve the car...hoping it hasn't been crushed. We will be seeking additional compensation including the loss of use of a months worth of premium which is c£100 in itself. The claims team were uncommunicative, disinterested and at times belligerent and bordering on being rude. Not what you want when you make a legitimate claim, after all that's why you have insurance.
