We had an unfortunate experience with a friends life life insurance broker. Copies of very personal and important documents were lost in the post when they were returning them to us! They were very apologetic but still did not put my mind at ease as to where the documents have ended up! Due to this we unfortunately Wouldn't recommend

Refuse to give information

I have asked several times for information about pension drawdown charges and restrictions, and all I get in return is a request for my personal information. I haven't got most of the information, as I stopped contributing to this plan decades ago. Although they send my statements by post they refuse to send anything generic through the post. Pathetic. Looking to transfer to my other pension plan asap, partly because the other one has performed notably better over the last 10 years, but also because this company seems to put every obstacle in my way that they can when I try to find out general information - I dread to think what they will be like when I try to access my money.

Shit Company, Stopping 93 year olds Pension as she can't sign paperwork now!!!

This company MUST be avoided at all cost !!
When you are in your 90s, you will not want the hassle of trying to prove you are still alive to this obnoxious and pedantict company. All this grief for a pension that is not enough to pay for the months papers !
Run by a bunch of uncaring people who can't even get the phone number right on their own paperwork.
So please, don't make the same mistake as us.
Find a Better Company , you owe it to yourself.

Completely inept - Customer service team. Have new business managers (part of Aviva group) Registration certificate sent through ties me to Mar 2015 wording when the policy was applied for in April 2016. There is a new booklet that came out in Mar 2016 and I was sent that, but the registration certificate is tying me to Mar 2015 wording. No matter how many times you tell them the obvious they harp on about the policy was applied for in April 2016 hence why I have to be tied to the March 2015 wording. Can you figure that one out because I cant. To make matters worse the policy went live in August 2016. I am about to cancel as I have had enough of this. Their policy team is shocking and they have inexperienced young people having to field the calls and getting fobbed off by the relevant departments. Shocking

My father had his funeral plan with them, after the funeral they continued to take money from his account. Trying to get it sort it out took several hours on the phone getting passed from poeple Sun Life (who were taking the payments) to people at Friends. And there response at the end was that "we should have let them know to stop the payments"!!! Even though the funeral was arranged through the policy!! The sort of company that likes to make the most difficult time for people even worse.

Not very helpful on the phone. I just wanted to ask a general question but I got passed around, I had to answer like 20 security questions, one of them was when did my pension policy start. It was yonks ago, I can't remember. The original insurer was AXA, not Friendlife. Their questioning drove my blood pressure up. I try to avoid speaking to them by making requests online, guess what? They fail to carry out my online instruction, I had to ring them. Maybe they want to drive me to early grave before I claim my pot. Don't bother.
