Worst Bank of all times - HSBC.

I applied HSBC Credit card through the mobile banking app. I am a Premier HSBC customer and have been with the bank for almost two years. After doing a hard check on my credit profile, my application was approved and I receive sms confirmation mentioning my limit. However, they asked me to visit the bank few times. First they wanted some documents and they wanted me to upload my signature in person along with a signed Terms and Conditions form. Few weeks went by and new requests kept on coming. After multiple weeks and going through all of this, when I finally checked the status of my card, I found out that they had messed up the process and I needed to re-apply and do this all over again. I am closing all my accounts with them. In the era of Monzo, Starling and Santander, I have no business with them anymore. Reviewed on: 4th June 2024

Useful in some contexts

Credit card is helpful for unexpected costs that I want a bit more time to pay off, but given the low credit limit it can be more harmful than beneficial, as going above 50% doesn't reflect well on my credit score. Inclined not to use it much, which kind of defeats the point a bit, but it's come in handy at times. Not in love with it, but it does the job to some extent. Reviewed on: 31st March 2023

Total chaos

Applied for credit card and filled all details in including my direct debit details . Application was accepted I received my card then did a balance transfer. Came to first payment and I missed it. The bank gave me a black mark on my credit file. I complained and it turned out that it was the bank fault for not setting up mt direct debit . I won my case . But my credit file took a hit for 5 weeks until the hsbc changed the black mark to a banking error . Don't bank with HSBC Reviewed on: 21st March 2023

The best bank

Excellent service

I have had credit cards and loans with HSBC over the past 15-years and they have always been great value, with excellent promotions and offers. I now have all my personal and business banking with HSBC. Reviewed on: 7th March 2023

Absolute worst bank and customer service

The absolute worst bank and customer service I have ever experienced. Charging random cash advance fees and dynamic currency conversion fees, with vendors that I have used before and no other bank has ever charged me such fees for. Charging me interest for outstanding balances when my balance is always paid off well within the monthly payment deadline. Tried to contact customer service via securemail, chat function, call centre, and email – securemail and mail never get a response, chat function takes three hours to respond and have incompetent untrained reps who provide generic answers that aren’t helpful, call centre similarly know nothing and can’t action anything. Refund finally agreed, and was promised to be in my account within 3-5 working days, and still haven’t appeared after a month. Worst Bank in the UAE

5 years being loyal customer… But no matter how loyal you are on this bank “HSBC.AE” They don’t care! You pay your bills on time and even you pay earlier before your due date in order to avoid any penalty…. They don’t care.!!! No matter how much you spent your credit card til you exceeded the limit…. They don’t care!!! You will not get anything in return!!!! Very very bad several!!! The worst bank for Credit Card here in the UAE… Reviewed on: 31st July 2022

The best.

I have several credit cards and have found HSBC the best of the lot. They always offer decent balance transfers from other cards and am always kept informed in regular emails.I like this company a lot. Reviewed on: 8th July 2022
