After already doing a go compare search a couple of weeks before my renewal date and getting prices of around £55 a month with 2 years no claims to then receive my renewal letter from Kwik Fit with a renewal quote of £422 a month!!! Needless to say i was utterly shocked considering my monthly premium this year is only £155 with only 1 years no claims! Goes without saying my insurance with kwik fit was swiftly cancelled and i will be making sure none of my friends or family ever use this con artist of a company!

I had initially signed up to pay the car insurance monthly, but having had a bonus from work come in, before the first direct debit payment had gone out, I decided to change it to an annual payment, and save myself the interest payments. I rang up Kwik Fit, who confirmed it was fine to change from monthly to annual. They calculated the amount to pay, which I did, and they confirmed they would cancel the direct debit with the bank. This was on a Friday. Then, the Tuesday after, I noticed on my bank's recent transactions that the direct debit for the monthly payment to Kwik Fit had gone out on the Monday. I rang the bank, who confirmed the direct debit had been cancelled by Kwik Fit, but because it had been cancelled so close to the date they were due to take it, the payment still went through. I had the bank raise a direct debit indemnity, and refund the money into my account. This could have been avoided if Kwik Fit had told me to also contact the bank, and cancel the direct debit with them also.

I bought Kwik Fit car insurance via topcashback. First off, it wouldn't let me buy online for some reason,so I had to ring them up. That part was ok. However, once it was all set up, they sent me a link to log on to their website and view the policy documents, and respond to request for proof of no claims etc. It acted like I had set up a username and password to log on with, when I hadn't set any up at all. Their phone no's weren't open after 7pm, and by the time someone responded to my tweets and facebook messages (days later), someone else from the company had already rang to check the buying process had gone ok. They then had to transfer me to some other department to sort this website debacle out. Not a good start to my experience with this company.
