I never got any communication from the bank.

Opened an ISA online yesterday received immediate notification to say I had been accepted. I then received an email providing me with all the details I needed to get my account up and running. I transferred a sum of money and today I received a further email letting me know that the funds had been received and were in my account. I would definitely recommend

i opened a savings account with Paragon Bank and then decided to close it as it was taking too long to open. I asked for the money to go back to my nominated account and was told it would take a few working days and waited a week and nothing happened. I called again and complained and the money went back to my account immediately. I would advise investing money in a well known bank rather than an unknown one or definitely read up about them before you open an account.

We wanted to transfer a child cash isa into a3year fixed rate adult cash isa due to coming of age
The application was made on line on 03/07/17 and we were asked to also provide I'd documents which needed to be verified and certified this was done and the documents sent to paragon on 7th July we heard nothing and contacted them again most unhelpful said they were waiting for ID documents again so we sent them again
19th received letter asking for transfer forms to be completed we returned same day
21 another letter received asking for ID documents to be sent we sent some more same day. 2nd August another set of id documents requested and sent again 4th August fresh documents verified and sent recorded delivery to paragon
Phoned paragon to confirm that they had been sent recorded delivery only to be told account application has been closed due to the documents not being delivered never known such an unpleasant unprofessional bank in all my life talk about stressful and that is to try to deposit money

So I moved to Ulster Bank with exactly the same set of circumstances and my account was opened in minuets with no issues what so ever."

Difficult people to deal with, staff putting obstacles in front of simple process

Should be a simple process to open an online savings account, but not so with Paragon Bank made worse by unhelpful staff not wanting to look for any solutions to issues created by their systems. Wasted my time trying to deal with these people.

I opened an ISA with them online but had to transfer old ISA money by bank transfer forms manually. It took them 2 months to finally transfer the money with no communication except when I phoned them to chase it. Each time they blamed the other bank and told me to start the process all over again. None of their excuses made any sense and they were uncaring in their attitude to the issue. Since then I have had constant problems accessing thier website which is either undergoing routine maintenance" or cannot be accessed using Firefox or any Kapersky safeguards. Seems old fashioned in more ways than one and not for the good!!"

They were unable to process what should have been a simple PoA savings account for my elderly mother with dementia. The application forms and gathering the required information took about 4 hours, and as they couldn't find the solicitors who certified the PoA document, they returned it, and as I was away for a week wen it arrived, I was unable to deal with it until I got back. I was told that was too late and that if I wanted to continue with the application I could only do that by starting the whole process again!

There was nothing wrong with the application and nothing wrong with the information I provided. The solicitor who certified the PoA copy was the same solicitors office who prepared the PoA document and the address was already on the document. I can't take the risk of re-applying. As well as the hours it would take to do so, I would have no guarantee that they wouldn't find some other reason to fail.

In the mean time, they were happy to bank the £85,000 cheque. The funds were returned, but the interest was never paid. They kept it.

Use a different bank.
