Policy In Practice is always my first port of call

Policy In Practice is always my first port of call when completing a benefit check. The calculations are accurate and give a nice breakdown of elements. The extra help available is a good little tool to show what other help may be available. Sometimes there can be glitches with the council tax reduction calculations but more often than not it works perfectly Reviewed on: 21st March 2024

Invaluable.

This tool has proved invaluable in demonstrating to customers how much better off they would be in work. It helps to dispel the misconception that being on benefits works out better than being in work or that it works out somewhat the same. Customers can see their current benefits income vs what they would get in work. It clearly outlines the amount of Universal Credit, child benefits and work wages they would be getting. One of my customers discovered that as a result of using the Better off calculator, she was owed over £5000 worth of benefits, which she absolutely needed. It helps customers with budgeting their costs but also guides customers to where they can access help with their utility bills. All in all a fantastic resource. Reviewed on: 21st March 2024
