awful company

Firstly i have to say just how difficult it is to communicate with this company. over the last 10 days ive been on hold for an advisor for over an hour and a half! when i originally took out the policy which was in joint names previously with adifferent insurer, i was told that the no claims is transferable between spouses on a joint policy. so i duely paid my deposit etc. a couple of days later i got an email, (no-reply address) saying our no claims wasnt valid, tried calling, on hold etc, tried web chat , not working, this went on for several days, before my wife eventually got through during the day. was told she would need a new quote, as the underwriter wouldnt accept the no-claims, even though she was named, with 9+ years no claims! new quote several hundred pounds dearer. Unsurprisingly, she turned down the quote and asked for the policy to be cancelled and we would return to our old insurer. not a problem, they would email me as id set up the policy originally. No email, we got the vehicle covered with the old insurer and almost 2 weeks past before autonet decided to WRITE telling us we owed nearly £100. this was after £90 being paid in deposit and first dd taken from bank less than 7 days later! ( like most people we pay monthly because we cant afford to pay in one go, but autonet decide its ok to charge you twice in your first month!!!!!) now my saga of trying tom contact them to sort out the excessive charges started , on hold with no answer , web chat not working at evenings, then when i did once get an answer, wrong department , i needed someone who works, 9-5:30 difficult when i work 6am -6:30 pm . advisor wasnt even interested in taking my number or providing alternative contact method ie email . finally today ive managed to get a working email address requesting a full breakdown of the final bill, which i have to say if they have put any extra charges on , ill see them in court! in short they are a terrible company , who edits reviews, proposes online availability but is in fact probably the most difficult company ive ever had the misfortune to use in 35 years of driving and riding. If you have and accident or need to claim or just contact outside of office hours, god help you. because they are not interested at all, customer service is merely a phrase they like to use, not adhere to!!! i for one will never recommend or use again, even to th point of paying much more if i had too!
