Despite having banked with Halifax for over ten years, never having had an overdraft and always in credit by four figures I was refused a clarity card for my forthcoming four week trip. Could not do it on line, branch could not do it and I was obliged to call at the branch several times and still refused and advised I had to do it via telephone banking going through all the questions again. Appalling behaviour by Halifax, but good news for me. I have moved to Starling and TransferWise and could not be happier with my choice of banks
