Living nightmare

So I took out an insurance policy of 25k miles on the telematics policy due to my long commute to work, cost £1500 with a box on my first year on a relatively slow car. I am 7 months into the policy and have to date had 12 yellow speeding infractions, 2 red, and 1 black (cancellation). Every time one of these has happened I have contacted MoreThan and appealed as I’m not a fast driver. Out of the 15 infractions I was accused of committing (enough to be cancelled 4-5 times over), 1 yellow warning stuck, and even that is debatable. I got a dashcam to win appeals, but by the time they have texted me saying I have a warning I have already overwritten the video of the time they accuse me of speeding due to the delay in sending me a text informing me of the warning in the first place. I have won £50 in compensation from them for a couple of the warnings and plan on taking it further. Nothing about the black box is accurate, nothing about the policy is flexible due to the invisible curfews and smoothness scores in traffic, and the customer support have always been less than helpful. Only when I threaten legal action do I get anything from these people. Avoid like the plague. If you can’t trust your black box or your son/daughters black box, how will you know how you/they drive? If you DO insist on going for MoreThan, get a dashcam. Reviewed on: 20th March 2019
