Charged excess for windscreen damage

4
Swiftcover's customer service was fine on the odd occasion I had to contact them, however when I had an issue with my windscreen I was informed that they are the only major car insurance provider that charges an excess fee as well as a year's no claims bonus. Having to pay as well as sacrificing a year of my no claims seemed excessive, so just be aware that while they may often be the cheapest provider there is a reason! Reviewed on: 19th October 2015

No problems so far!

All of the documentation when setting up our mortgage was very helpful and on the one instance we've had to contact them so far they were great. No issues setting it up, and no issues with any payments either. Reviewed on: 8th October 2015

Quick and easy to renew, and they even reduced our premium

My wife and I have had an Admiral multi-car policy for a few years now, and when we went to renew discovered we could save nearly £100 per year if I stayed with Admiral and my wife went to a different company - which seemed a bit ridiculous. After a phone call to go through the other policies we'd been quoted on they were able to reduce the difference to £20 over the year. Still not the same, but the ease of dealing with their Welsh call centre and having to be spared the hassle of moving providers was enough to cancel out the difference. It was still cheaper than our previous policy, so we were more than happy to renew. We've never had to claim so can't comment on that aspect, but the staff have always been incredibly helpful and friendly. Reviewed on: 8th October 2015

Hassle-free and useful perks

I've been with Halifax a number of years now - essentially they were offering £100 free to anyone who set up a new current account so I decided to change. The perks with this account make it extremely worthwhile: travel insurance, emergency home repair cover, mobile phone insurance (even on iPhones) and breakdown cover for £15pm is fantastic. It drops to £10pm if you deposit a certain amount and have two direct debits too. The perks cover several people so my wife and I have this as a joint account - don't make the mistake of keeping them separate if you have a partner. The app is really easy to use too. My only criticism would be that they still communicate important information by post - I'd be happy to receive this by email. A minor complaint though. Reviewed on: 12th August 2015
