I have been a Natwest customer for many years, and have always found their services very clear and simple to use. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful in branch.
I do not think that you will receive the best interest rates at Natwest. As such, I would recommend their ISA only if you are looking for an easy way to save and already use Natwest for your other banking services. This will allow you to easily keep track of your money - all in one place.
Otherwise, it seems likely that you will get better interest rates elsewhere.

Pleasant staff and straightforward to open an account

Having only recently opened an account with Halifax, I have to say the process was easy and pain-free. I was offered the chance to attend a meeting at a time of my choosing, where a quick credit check was run and my personal identity documents checked. All staff were very pleasant an eager to help. My new account was available to me immediately with online access from the get-go. My card arrived within a few days by post.
The online banking website is not the prettiest or the easiest to navigate (although this may be to my lack of familiarity with it). I like that you can change the name of your bank account online to something more personal in order to help distinguish it from other account.
Overall, I have had nothing but great customer service from this bank, where the staff always appear to have a friendly and happy manner.

Having had a Student Account for a number of years, I have found Natwest to very reliable and trustworthy. When opening my account I was provided with a 4 year student railcard which has been invaluable throughout my student years. Although this deal is no longer available, Natwest do now provide students with a Young Persons Coachcard which offers a 1/3rd off coach travel.
I have always found Natwests online services very easy to use with a nice clear display. The only issue I have found is that they require you to use a card reader when transferring money to a new person. These card readers are supplied for free from Natwest, although take a few days to arrive by post, which can be frustrating if you need to pay someone in a hurry.
One feature of online banking which is particularly useful is that you are able to see an actual balance and an available balance. This allows you to view how much money will be in your account once all transactions from the past few days have cleared, giving a more accurate view of your finances.
All in all, this is a basic account which can save you a few pounds if you travel frequently!
