Basic account so what do you expect!

I feel the security is really good these days, certainly been lots of improvement. With it being a basic account there's obviously no extras, but it does fine for me. Reviewed on: 11th January 2020

Ok for the moment

I've had serious problems with Santander in the past, but currently they seem to be doing better than ever in my personal experience, I've had great customer service from them, their fraud prevention seems great as I've had a couple of attempts of money being taken from my account and they were on the ball and spotted it immediately and put a stop to that money going out of my account, even when it was a tiny amount for the fraudsters to check it's an active account/card. It's great to be earning cashback on my everyday purchases and direct debits. I'm a happy customer for the moment. Reviewed on: 15th September 2019

Ok but not good enough

Had a great price when I first went to them, but the premium for next years insurance has jumped hugely so will get cover elsewhere. The underwriter for the insurance went bankrupt and I heard lots of people struggled to get their claim paid when a new company was found. I haven't had to make a claim with these but after the whole bankruptcy issue I don't feel happy to continue with them. Reviewed on: 15th July 2019

Improvements Over Time

Initially it was a poor service and product, between myself and my family we all has fraud issues happen, but Santander have really stepped up their security recently and I feel much more confident that my money is safe. I've found the customer service to have really improved too so I'm being provided an all round much better service and product these days. Reviewed on: 13th May 2019
