I've never had a problem with my card in places that accept it, and the rewards that come with the card are great. The only problem I have with it is that AMEX seems to not be accepted in very many places anymore, which means I often find myself unable to spend my own money! I know this isn't really AMEX's fault, but it still has negatively impacted on my experience - so I wouldn't really recommend getting a AMEX card anymore.

I've never had a problem caused by Natwest, but when I've caused my own problems (such as being unable to understand something on their website, being unsure how to do something, or needing to block my card), I've been able to get in contact with Natwest extremely easily. I've never had to wait in a queue to contact someone via their live chat, and their phone support for card blocking is extremely efficient (although you could argue that this is to be expected).
Things such as being able to take money out of their cash points with your phone are great features too - I've accidentally left my card at home many times, so being able to get money out without it has been extremely helpful.
I would definitely recommend getting your student account with Natwest.
