Great Insurance so long as you don't need to make a claim!

Nearly all the reviews for this company are based on getting medical cover for existing illnesses. This company are great at doing that. Just don't make a claim! The company don't even answer the phone. My wife and I were stranded in Australia for 10 days after she was hospitalised with food poisoning. The insurers didn't want to know, rarely answered the phone, and didn't help once. I was left to arrange and pay for new flights, and extend my hotel stay, all at my own cost. They made a very stressful experience much worse. They paid my claim when we finally got home, but if you are expecting help from this company whist you are abroad you can forget it. I've taken the company to the insurance ombudsman, and am considering Court proceedings against them for breach of conract. I will never take a policy out with them again. Beware!

It doesn't matter how good the policy or the premium is if they are not there when you need them. I have received an ex gratia payment from them in respect of their failure to help, but nothing can excuse the fact that they were not there when I needed them. Over a 10 day period they rarely answered the phone, ignored my e-mails, and claimed that they were organising my extended hotel stay whilst my wife was in hospital but failed to do so. Useless considering I paid an insurance premium of nearly £1500.

My wife was admitted to hospital in Australia. I rang their emergency line 18 times the evening she was admitted - no answer. I got no help from them over the subsequent 10 days either. They don't answer phone calls or e-mails. They are absolutely useless - I ended up making my own arrangements to get back to the UK at my own expense - beware!
