Chase gives me 2in1 and more than that - 1% cashback like AmEx credit card BUT on a debit card AND from 1 pound spend AND instantly available.

It's something you didn't see coming... I love that Starling gives me the fullest possible control of my money all from the mobile (but also from a computer if you need it). It's still decades ahead from big names in banking on IT front.

This card gives 1 pence cashback on every full 1 pound, eg. 8 pence from 8.90 etc. However the accumulated pot is only available after a full year. Be sure to look out for special offers on a few websites dedicated to money and savings as you can get the 25 pounds annual membership fee returned.

I am very happy with Starling Bank which not only has the best current account but, unsurprisingly, top class customer service able to find a fair balance between friendliness, humor and professionalism (I think the first almost implies the latter - they cannot be too far away). I got 10 pounds voucher just as a thank you gesture, ex gratia payment to resolve my complain when one day things went wrong, very quickly a replacement card after I was forced to replace it and I can feel that agents go extra mile towards me when they can. The only thing that is less than 5 stars is that the credit cards are yet to be launched and I have high hopes for them.
