I've been with Tesco Bank for only a couple of weeks so far but am pleased I can collect loyalty points by using their credit card. I'd have been keener still to recommend the card if it awarded more points per purchase though...

Just to say I highly recommend my Nationwide Select Credit card as the associated staff are very competent and helpful in an emergency (such as when an unauthorised company tries to take recurring payments from said credit card account as happened to me recently), and they're always available via a free phone number.

I would recommend Nationwide as not only do they seem more ethical than many of their high street competitors but they have proved consistently efficient as far as billing and Customer Services are concerned with their statements being both reliably accurate and easy to understand.

Although Santander is reducing the interest rate on its 123 current account it still allows customers to benefit from a generous cashback allowance on bills such as broadband, mortgage, and utilities and in addition has always had a helpful, responsive customer service centre. Considering how many similar organisations have foreign based call centres or take forever to respond to a query this makes them comparatively competitive, which is why I would still recommend Santander when all things are considered.
