I opened this account back in March 2014 when it was paying 3% interest.
The bank base rate then was 0.5% It is now 0.75% but Santander are cutting their rate in May 2020 to 1%
They might review that when there are many account closures!

I have had an American express rewards card for over 10 years.
It is free and I get triple points on Supermarket shopping and standard points on all my other purchases - these come in handy at Christmas time
