When I bought a Fully Comp policy from the AA, I was quoted a price that included legal cover. I was not told about this until I received the policy. I use Free Motor Cover so I did not need it. The AA are very reluctant to remove the legal cover. Ironically, when I did need the AA legal cover. they failed to deliver and , after a protracted complaint, the Ombudsman gave me compensation. DON'T let these companies insist on their legal cover - there is a lot available FREE!

I had been a customer of Midland Bank for over 25 years when I set up as a self employed Consultant/trainer. I had loaned large amounts of money for the time when I was in a job and before I changed direction, including for cars, household goods, overdrafts, over-exuberance as a student...:) etc. The HSBC brand appeared in the latter years. I approached HSBC for a loan to support my new business marketing and to gain an e-presence. I was declined. I went back to 'employed' work part-time and paid for my website, etc. I continued as self-employed. As I became 'successful, without 'their' money, I was phoned regularly about 'loans', 'credit', 'premier services'. I remind them that I would never borrow a penny after they turned me down in a most important business venture. My profits are held elsewhere!
