Cards Declined for NO reason

Both my credit card and debit card declined for no apparent reason yesterday in Sainsburys so trolley full of shopping had to be abandoned! Plus I was on way home from work with not enough petrol and couldn't fill up so had to leave car there and get picked up by my fiance'. Had loads of credit in my CC and over £15k in my debit card. Called when I got home and their automated system refused to accept my call unless I had lost my card or it was stolen. Called this morning and waited over an hour to get through to speak to a customer advisor who said it was sainsbury's terminal for the debit card decline and their fault for the CC glitch. NO aplology whatsover and no reimbursement for trouble and inconvience, loss of time and effort. In fact the customer advisor was quite short with me when in fact there should have been an apologise somewhere there!? I am now taking my business elsewhere...absolutely disgraceful service to a premier customer! Reviewed on: 1st October 2020
