I took out a mortgage with Halifax as I have previously used their services and think that they offer good incentives for FTBs. I am happy with the product we took out and hope to secure a good deal with them again.

I found the Halifax insurance easy to set up and understand, they also have regular offers like cash back which make it great value.

I have had a great experience with Halifax for many years as a banking customer, though last year I took out a mortgage, and Halifax were so helpful from the beginning to moving into our new home. They cover all the little details such as posting a "new home" pack with little treats and a mini DIY kit. It was just so lovely seeing our name on a parcel at our new house! We were also able to take advantage of a cash back offer for first time buyers which came in so useful. I've already recommended halifax to others who are currently looking for a mortgage.
