Great quote, shoddy service

1
Their quote on Confused.com for home and contents insurance ticked every box; that is until I tried to complete my purchase with the provider, all I got was a twily wheel which continued for the next 30 mins until it timed out. I contacted by Facebook Messenger, to be informed they were having "technical" issues and they could get someone to call me but it would take up to 3 days (my insurance was due for renewal before that). They then gave me a link to webchat trying to speak to anyone proved impossible. Then I tried phoning - the number given was one which costs £6 to call (very small letters - beware if considering phoning!!). but eventually, after persisting via Facebook messenger they supplied two other numbers - neither of which actually worked! either the person supplying them was clueless about this or they were trying to fob me off personally I would never consuder thiscompany again; they are a complete joke - if that is how they go about trying to attract new custom I shudder to think about the treatment I could get if I were with them and needed to make a claim. I am glad I never actually parted with any money and took out a policy with them. How they continue to function with this kind of shoddy service is beyone me! Reviewed on: 12th July 2020

Flex account well worth having

Just for maintaining a balance of over £1000 in my Flex account I get free travel insurance when travelling in Europe; I travel a fair bit so it saves me a fortune Reviewed on: 8th February 2020

okay price but a bit OTT on restrictions

Have 2 cats, the older one is insured through Animal Friends as they offered the most competitive price at the time I took out the insurance. When my youngest cat came to me from the Cats Protection League I felt it easiest to insure him with Animal Friends too and the monthly premium still remains reasonable. However when he first moved in he had a couple of episodes of blood in his faeces. He was checked out thoroughly by the vet who found no cause for concern and said it was probably just down to a change of diet. Indeed he had no further problems. I should have kept my mouth shut when I was asked if any medical history as they immediately seized on this to exclude gut problems from the insurance. Rather OTT, I thought and doesn't encourage me to be open and honest in the future. Reviewed on: 15th September 2019

Ripped off or what

Took out landlord insurance with these guys back in 2013. They remained competitively priced until 2018, then a bit of a sharp increase but due to lack of time to research alternatives swallowed that one and stayed with them. This years renewal comes through, increase of around £300 - I have made no claims with them and trying to get through to speak to anyone was a complete joke. I found a far more reasonably priced insurer, and surprise surprise Home Protect suddenly found the time to return my call to "see what they could do". Too little, too late. I am gone Reviewed on: 15th September 2019
