I had an insurance policy through John Lewis, however when I had to make a claim after an accident (I wasn't at fault), I was passed over to another company because my insurance wasn't actually with John Lewis. Unfortunately the other company were about as useful as a chocolate teapot and it was only when I threatened to take them to court as they were the company who I had made the payment and taken the policy out with that they decided to help. So much for their legendary "customer service"......
