Middle of the road, no problem!

I have had my Halifax current account for years and have never really had a problem with it. They recently changed the way they charge for using my overdraft, which I did appreciate as they were previously charging £1 per day flat rate, but now charge a percentage depending how much of your overdraft you use. They are always helpful when I go in branch. The reason I haven't rated them more highly is the fact that they are no different to any other bank really, and don't go above and beyond. Dealt with quickly and easily

When my car insurance policy was up for renewal, Hastings Direct sent me my renewal quote. I went onto a comparison site to check what other quotes I could get and found they were much cheaper. I called Hastings customer services and told them how cheap the other quotes were, and complained about my higher renewal quote. They apologised profusely and said they would be able to give me a cheaper renewal if I would consider staying with them. Reviewed on: 9th July 2017
