I have been a Barclays customer since I was 12 years old. Despite this loyalty (25 years) I think it is fair to say that I have only mediocre feelings towards the bank and would not go out of my way to recommend them to others. They definitely seem to fall short of the likes of Santander and nationwide for offering existing customers better rates and cash back rewards etc.
