Simple home insurance - no fuss

4
I've had home insurance with John Lewis for a couple of years now. I found the online application not too onerous, and easy to choose different levels/inclusions exclusions such as accidental damage. I haven't had to claim, so can't comment on that. But overall it's been fuss free and simple and reasonable value with a brand I trust. Reviewed on: 1st August 2016

Convenient good value mortgage with no problems (so far!)

We remortgaged with Nationwide a couple of years ago onto a 5-year fix. The remortgage process was easy - I did it online and got £100 cashback for doing so. The rates at the time were competitive, so our financial advisor recommended just staying with our existing provider. The website is OK to use but I would like it to show monthly interest not just interest for the full year to date. Other than that no issues! Reviewed on: 20th June 2016

Current account with cashback that's great if you have savings

I've had a Santander 123 current account for a few years now. It gives 3% interest on your balances up to £20,000 and you have instant access. You also get cashback on direct debits for certain bills like utilities and phones. It's great for me because it gives instant access at a better rate than savings accounts. It's the best value cashback current account for people with a few thousand in savings. This deal will be even better now that lower levels of savings interest are not subject to tax. My only complaint would be that the monthly fee went up a few months ago, but it's still worth it for me, and I think it's more that the deal before was just so good. As for service, my affairs are pretty simple and I do most of my banking online. Never had a problem with them. Reviewed on: 26th April 2016
