Received a letter saying that we were pre-approved for a £10,000 loan at around 2.5% interest (can't remember exactly). This would have been a huge help as a consolidation loan for us so we were exited to finally be able to get our finances under control. After going through all the process we were offered the loan but at a much higher rate of interest. I'm sure they do it in purpose so that people have already spent the money in their heads and still go along with the more expensive loan. Our current account is with them and none of the information we gave filling in the application was un-known to them before they sent the original offer.
