Great service, low cost, very transparent - one less thing to worry about!

As soon as we began planning our wedding, we realised that we needed a wedding insurance policy in place before we started writing some (rather large) cheques to service providers. We were aware that unexpected problems can arise despite the most careful planning, and while ours was a budget DIY wedding by most standards, we couldn't afford to lose deposits should a supplier cease trading, or wish to press on ahead with the day even if someone close to us fell ill. Both of us had previously taken on roles including Best Man/ Chief Bridesmaid at various friends' weddings over the years, and knew how easily things could go slightly awry - from vanishing wedding gifts at the reception venue to no-show florists, and from locked-up photography venues to a grandparent being taken into hospital the day before the ceremony - we'd had to work around these snags as best we could, and make sure the show went on. But although no-one's wedding ever goes 100% to plan (and hey, spontaneity is fun, right?), we didn't want our day to be completely derailed by something major - and with multiple vendors providing different services, plus family flying in from overseas, it was really important for us to have confidence that any problems arising from suppliers going out of business, or travel delays, wouldn't result in a total disaster. I shopped around various providers and found Dreamsaver to offer very competitive pricing - a lot less than I'd expected to pay. I especially appreciated their clarity in stating what was and wasn't covered for the big day, and the option of adding on extras, such as additional cover for ceremonial swords, marquees and the like. The Dreamsaver website made it really simple to compare the different policies offered, and because our wedding was quite small, we found that the Gold policy fitted our needs perfectly. Payment was very straightforward and we were quickly sent a full policy pack, again clearly letting us know the circumstances and processes for submitting a claim. It just meant that we had confidence in going ahead and paying deposits to vendors, especially since some of our preferred providers were small, quirky suppliers who had only recently started up. Knowing that we had some comeback just in case their business wasn't still around in a year's time meant we felt we could go with the vendors we really liked, rather than playing it safe and going for the biggest and longest established (and with our venue, photographer and hair & makeup vendors all winning major industry newcomer awards after we'd booked them, we think we made the right choices). Dreamsaver continued to send us helpful emails as our planning progressed right up to the day itself with useful tips and advice, and even a few weeks after the wedding (which went brilliantly, with no problems!) emailed us advice on how to update passports, driving licenses, wills etc, complete with direct links to government websites - all very helpful. Overall, we really appreciated the clear advice and service offered by Dreamsaver, and at such a reasonable price that it would have been absurd not to have protected one of the biggest expenditures we've ever made - and with so many variables! We also appreciated that we've only ever received relevant communications from them, with no unsolicited emails from 'associated partners'. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone else planning a wedding - and have already done so several times. Two very happy customers here. Reviewed on: 22nd September 2017
