When ordering money from HSBC, the money is taken from your account the same day. If they fail to obtain the foreign money, they're polite and tell you they cannot do it but then they hang onto the money for up to 10 working days. This is unacceptable in this day and age; if the money is taken immediately, the refund if they cannot provide a service should be immediate too or at very worst next working day. To hang onto the cash for 10 working days is a killer for any last minute exchanges. I bank with HSBC but not for much longer with this kind of behaviour. Shocking!
