A total shamble

For the first time after being a Halifax customer for over 40 years I used ultimate rewards insurance due to a faulty boiler. I was promptly directed to a local plumbing firm called: Absolute heating, they guaranteed to be at my address the next day, when the next day came it all started to go Pear shape: Tic-Toc, Tic-Toc etc... and you know the rest, I decided to call Halifax and was put on hold for a good 30 minutes , Y battery was running low so I opted for a call back that never came , this was already 11:00 am, I then decided to call the firm who was supposedly to come to my rescue, only to be told they had no idea who I was, even with the job reference number. So I called again Halifax to inform them of the situation, after 35 minutes on hold and a low battery again, at that point I was informed by absolute heating that an engineer was on his way, the call back never came, so I waited for the engineer who had called me to say he was on his way and would be at my address within 15 minutes: Tic Toc, Tic-Toc etc..., then a call arrived informed me the engineer was outside my house, I saw no one and asked what transport or what did the person looked like as there was no one to be seen. Are you at your address? Have you ever lived at your address? Yes! And why are you not there! Where are you exactly, the man was st a totally different place he had been given the wrong post code. The engineer eventually came and gave me details of the work that needed to be done. At about 5 pm the call back arrived from Halifax home emergency 6 hours late, an advisor insisted on 2-3 occasions that I should speak Italian to make things easier because of my name , I was already very frustrated due to all that it happened through the day l decided to raise a complaint, an hour late I received a further call from home emergency informing me that the job could be done at an extra cost, when the quote was told I was told that I was penalised for the engineer being st the wrong address! Have you ever seen a volcano erupt? How dare they charge me for sending the man to a wrong address, after 40 years banking with them the moment you say your account number they should have all information at hand including the correct post code, my code ends with FX, I think they told To the guy X spelled EX so they sent him to FE, to add salt to the wound I was told to pay the excess or the job would not progress, this was s living nightmare, they will hear from me again, moral of the story make sure they are literate with phonetic spelling, hope the boiler does not break down again!
