Have just moved to M&S bank and planning to pay cheques in using HSBC facilities. Told this was ok when opening account. First attempt to use this was declined and have now been told that only main HSBC banks will accept cheques for an M&S account. No good to me as this involves a 10 mile drive and £5 parking fee. Would never have swapped banks if they had been honest about this up front. Will be moving account again soon.
