Robbery!

1
Refused a £31 per month contract for a Blackberry in 2012 when I needed a new phone. Orange shop staff wrote down the Experian website and told me to log onto this to find out why I had been refused a phone contract. I logged onto Experian at home and signed up to what I thought would be a free credit check. Hoodwinked, I typed in some of my details to find out a result I didn't get. Over four months £14.99 a month was deducted from my bank account without my knowledge. As I had lost my job, these charges had left me without a valid travel card. telephoned Experian and told them my situation. I told them to take my details off their system right now, which they did and they refunded me the 4 payments of £14.99. Bad experience - and all for the want of a crap phone! charging people money for running outta money!

I usually try to avoid unplanned overdraft but got into it during the last 12 months due to a few emergencies & cash flow problems. The transaction fees on unarranged overdrafts are extortionate plus I phoned up for hard copy of my statement to try and wrestle this mess into order and they kept me on hold listening to ghastly music for nearly half an hour! They promised a call-back today between 12 and 4, which they didn't. When you phone them on your mobile they can charge £15 for the call on top of your normal billing so I have been reluctant to chase them given the mess I have already gotten in. They broke a promise to this loyal customer of 12 years and not happy. thinking of taking up on that current account switch service as I have gone without the promised one to one support from Santander. Red. Devils. Avoid them at all costs! Reviewed on: 14th May 2018

when One Star is an Insult

Based on recent experiences with the bank I've been with since I was 16, one star is even insulting. Kept on hold listening to music for 25 minutes then the red devils promised to call back between 12 and 4 today, which they never did so I have gone without the customer support I was promised by their call centre, even though I am a loyal customer of 12 years. Very poor, very shoddy work, Santander. Don't open a current account with this bank! Reviewed on: 14th May 2018
