Relendex offer, and provides, the bank-beating opportunity to obtain 8-10% interest on cash deposits over 1-3 years. It is a peer-to-peer platform, where investors are recommended to split their lending over a number of different borrowers, but where in each case, the loan is secured by a charge over real property. Of course there is still some risk (how could there not be?) that the value of the property will fall below the amount secured, but generally the loans are no more than 70% of the assessed value, so the risk is small. I have made several loans through Relendex, each of which has not only produced the anticipated quarterly interest payments, but also the scheduled capital repayments. The only thing that is missing (and will surely come eventually) is the opportunity to invest through an IFISA so that the returns can be tax free. Even so, at the moment, for secured lending and interest at 8-10% p.a., after paying tax the return is extremely good. I would have given 10 stars for recommendation if the IFISA was up and running. As part of a balanced portfolio of investments (equities, bonds, interest generating savings) I consider that an investment through Relendex should be considered and then acted upon.
