Difficult to open and manage account

I tried to open a saver account and TBH it was hard work, mainly because I had previously had an account with them 20 years ago. Obviously my address had changed since then and Santander needed all sorts of identity proof because of that. I couldn't access my account online as the verification process took so long. By the time I got access, other banks' interest rates had overtaken the Santander offer. Closing the account proved easier than opening it. Plus, the online site was not easy to use. As good as it gets!

I've had a few fixed rate accounts with OakNorth bank. The rates are always competitive, the telephone service is efficient as is their online communication. The app is simple to use. What's not to like? It's as good as it gets! Reviewed on: 16th March 2023
