I asked Vernon Building Society if I could raise some money on my mortgage to undertake building work on our house (installing energy efficient measures such as insulation and an air source heat pump). From start to finish they were professionally thorough (without being unnecessarily demanding) and I felt very well looked after as there was always a point of contact if I had any questions. The whole process was quicker than I expected – they were very efficient. Using a small building society such as the Vernon means they understand you on a human level and even if you don't tick all the boxes (I'm self employed so it was a bit more complicated) they are flexible and see the whole picture. Overall very happy with the service received.
