Excellent experience making a claim

Unfortunately, while I was living in a Hall of Residence my bedroom flooded (dirty water a foot deep!) due to a burst pipe in a cupboard across the hall. I was away for the weekend at the time and upon discovering the leak the maintenance team decided to throw most of my belongings from the floor on to the bed, which actually caused even more damage and exacerbated the problem! Fortunately, Endsleigh could not have been more helpful! I rang them and explained what had happened - they were sympathetic and understanding and agreed to cover the full cost of everything (at the exact prices I had paid for everything when it was brand new) that had been damaged, including the extra damage caused by the maintenance men (which I was worried they wouldn't cover). I simply had to make a full itemised list of everything that was damaged and how much it had cost me. They didn't even ask for any proof of costs, they just sent me a cheque covering everything with no more information required. They even covered the cost of dry cleaning all my bedding, that had only been necessary due to the act of putting floor items on the bed and not actually due to the flood itself. I received the cheque very promptly and was able to replace everything I needed, which really reduced the stress of the situation that occurred just before the exam period.
