Worst experience ever

Absolute nightmare from the start - no email or letter to confirm application was received, several weeks later I found out they need more information, when I called to give them this they didn't have anyone who could talk to me (loan team person who finally answered said they couldn't talk about credit card applications) they arranged a call back - the call back never happened so I called back a week later. Once again there was a long wait, a person who said they couldn't help and would arrange a call back, I explained the last one had not happened I would prefer to wait. Finally someone was found, I spoke to them was able to give the missing information and was told things would progress. I waited another week with no communication so called again, to be told my application had beed approved and the letter would be in the post. I waited another week, no post and I called to say nothing had arrived, they were surprised and said it should have come out - they would look at it and potentially get it re-issued. A week latter on a Saturday a credit agreement arrived. It was signed and put in the post that weekend, I guess taken in the early monday collection from the post box. The following monday I got an email to say my application had lapsed and I would need to start again - more than 8 weeks from the start of the process I was no further forward and had an extra credit check on my record which impacted my credit score. People on the phone were mostly undertrained and poorly informed, when I called to find out if they really had cancelled my application at first the person thought they hadn't hadn't and then later in the call confirmed they had. When I asked to understand the timelines for when the lapse would have started from they did not have any of the dates available, I was told my application was some time in September and they couldn't tell me when the credit agreement had been issued or when I had been approved. I could not believe that the person who was there to support didn't even have basic information about the application. Just terrible experience Reviewed on: 7th November 2022

scam

Even if you pay it off every month, They still charge interest. They say you had a couple of pound outstanding and its because their app is purposefully slow at updating so you think you have paid it all when you have not. Scammers. Reviewed on: 31st October 2022

Worst credit card in existence!!

They rely on you wanting Nectar points and ignoring their dreadful customer to non-existent customer service, their systems that arbitrarily decline transactions to cause maximum embarrassment and inconvenience, and answer the phones only after an hour wait! Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs!!!! Reviewed on: 29th October 2022

Not worth it anymore

Used to get 2 nectar points for each pond spent on Sainsbury's credit card .From November it is reduced to 1 point per £2 spend ..Better off looking elsewhere for a reward credit card Reviewed on: 7th September 2022

What a Sham

Never dealing with Sainsbury's again. Not surprized their rating is so low. They like many other companies nowadays have no regard for their customers. Just move onto the next. Their service is so dreadful at some point they will have no new customers to move onto. Reviewed on: 25th July 2022

Good terms and credit

Offer lengthy 0% finance terms and you can earn nectar points on most purchases. Triple points in some places. Reviewed on: 20th July 2022

Long and slow.

There is so much you can’t do on the app (talk to customer service, request a new card etc) so you have to call. Often wait hours on hold. Also sometimes have to enter in all my details etc on the phone just to be told that lines aren’t open. Can’t add card to Apple Pay, which is also annoying. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2022

Cannot contact anyone

Terrible customer services they sent me an email saying they need more information tried to contact them.to be honest you have more chance of phoning father christmas. A massive company like sainsburys you would expect better. Reviewed on: 14th February 2022

A solid credit card.

Sainsbury’s have always ran my MasterCard efficiently and don’t mind sending me a monthly statement. They support open banking. I rang them recently to reinstall my app on a new phone and the chap j spoke to was really pleasant and very well informed. Reviewed on: 1st February 2022

Impossible to contact

Quite literally the most frustrating company to deal with. You cannot speak to a human to discuss an issue that is not on their automated online list. It is appalling customer service and they need to sort it out. Reviewed on: 26th November 2021
