I have just transferred my funds in to a Tesco account as the interest rate is far better than the bank I am with. I spoke to someone who guided me through what I needed to do. Very easy and lovely staff. Reviewed on: 16th May 2022

Hard Work

Unable to access Internet Saver account online to update new address & telephone number as account locked, so having to wait for a new security number to be sent in the post (as they're 'unable' to send to new telephone number). Will only send to old address as 'unable' to send to new address because they're unable to update details...I have to do this online (which I can't access). First security number has been 'lost' in the post, so having to wait for a second to be sent (to the old address). Think I'll probably close instead (once I receive the security number to be able to access my account). Phew! Reviewed on: 27th September 2018

Still dire. We are now approaching our day 30 after which we cannot add money to our accounts. I have one and my husband has one. In total we are transferring in 3 old accounts from other providers. 2 have completed but one is still outstanding. This is far too stressful. I WILL NEVER USE TESCOBANK AGAIN. They have over £100,000 of our money in total and are Dickensian in their speed of service. Never again!! A different provider transferred in to my new ISA in 48 hours, yet to date it has been 26 days and Tescobank have still not completed the very same transaction from the same originating provider. Everything is done by post. This means that when you have an ISA to transfer in at the end of its term, deadlines become squeezed. I opened an account online, needed to wait for postal information before I could access it. Then I downloaded, completed and posted the Transfer In form back to Tescobank. 14 days later I had heard nothing as to whether the bank was processing my request. The provider from which the ISA was being taken only allowed 21 days to withdraw out the funds before it became stuck there (with a poor interest rate). On phoning Tescobank the assistant was unable to help me until I really pressed her so now I await a phone call from her to inform me if my money is going to make it in time. Needless to say, if the answer is uncertain, I will return to the other provider I used who did a transfer in within 48 hours!!! Tescobank could learn a thing or 2 from them!! Needs a bit more information

The actual product is good, but the directions on how to use the account are not clear. I actually had to get in touch with them to ask how to use the product, as nothing in the initial information made it clear. The lack of communication from Tesco Bank is also unfortunate, as I keep forgetting I have the account :) Reviewed on: 7th April 2018

Poor communication

I opened a savings account but had a query about the interest rate. It took 5 minutes before the phone was answered & the rate confirmed. When the letter arrived the rate had been reduced. The only online methods to contact tesco is either facebook or twitter, why? After another wait for the phone to be answered, I closed the account. Reviewed on: 7th December 2017

Staff are incompetent

Sent passport ,letter from nat west, water rate for 2016/17 "didn't have a date on it ?" ha ha still wanted more to confirm my identity! (Tesco card holder!!) gave up. Reviewed on: 19th November 2017
