The recent handling by Nationwide of the rate cut to 0.25% by the Bank of England was excellent. They quickly adjusted mortgage rate by same reduction, and provided good explanation and detail of the change very quickly after the Bank's annoucement

The website was very simple to use, and every step was very well explained. It stated, in clear language, exactly what information was needed, where to find it, and why it was important.

Arranging Home Insurance whilst Loft Conversion ongoing

My home insurance fell due for renewal a few days before a loft conversion was due to begin.
The staff at Swinton in Harrogate were incredibly helpful in advising of requirements to inform current Insurers.
When current insurers requirements were becoming rather onerous, Swinton pro-actively sought alternative quotes from other Insurers who were much more accommodating with the ongoing building work.
The whole process took several days, and much work by Swinton, and all this was done with great communication and dedication from the team - despite the fact that their earnings must have been very small on a premium of less than £150
