Refused a bank account even though never been in debt

I went with my husband to open a bank account with Lloyds bank and was turned down for one because they did not like my credit score even though I have never been in debt, have more than £5k in my account and always pay off my credit cards in full every month. What added insult to injury was they opened a bank account for my husband who was bankrupt.
