Been a loyal mortgagee of Halifax for more than 10 years. My deal is coming to an end, so contacted them for a NEW DEAL - THEY SAID NO. Their deals last 2 years 3 months - my O/S mortgage is 2 years 2 months. They didn't offer a new mortgage for a further month - JUST SAID NO! So loyalty counts for nothing with Halifax, nor does being old as they refused to extend my mortgage (I am coming 65).
The person who I spoke with did make a further comment regarding my outstanding mortgage and I quote "WE WOULD PREFER IT IF YOU REPAID YOUR MORTGAGE NOW RATHER THAN WAIT 2 YEARS" - Nice to be appreciated by a friendly, caring bank - NOT
So a word of warning to everybody out there, that's getting old - Don't grow old with Halifax
