Old world banking, inefficient and outdated

I have been a Barclays customer for over 15 years, and I have seen their service drop constantly over that time. With the closure of branches, offshoring of call centres, increased charges, inflexible lending, to name just some of their failings, this is a 20th century bank that is being rightly left behind by the new startups that are focused on customer service (such as Starling and Revolut) ahead of making a buck or two. They just do stuff that you need a bank to do, and none of the clutter

It's the little things, like reminders of upcoming DD's (esp. if you don't have quite enough in the account!), instant notification/confirmation of a payment (so if your card is cloned you know immediately), and easy integration with other providers, such as Plum and Xero.
