I absolutely love mt Monzo app which is so easy to use. However, when things go wrong I seriously question why I stay with this bank. The customer service team are intensely annoyingly smug and patronising. Further, I've had to waste time over and over again explaining what the issues are and feel I might as well be talking to children.

I've been a first direct customer for around 30 years and they still rock. They do however have some competition with the likes of Monzo doing great things with their app. The key difference is when things go wrong with Monzo you have to deal with their appalling customer service which is smug and staffed by children. first direct still employ grown-ups who fix things without banal comments.
