I originally went to open an account at the Manchester branch because their rates were far better than I could get elsewhere but what was even more lovely was the wonderful , polite and knowledgeable staff who couldnt do enough for me

My 5 Year ISA reached maturity recently and as I have done for the 20+years I have had an ISA with the Halifax I simply planned to start a new one with them but was amazed when A I saw the paltry interest rate they were paying on the accoun0.75 % plus only 2 year ISA . Needless to say I looked elsewhere and found a good deal at almost 3 X the interest rate at a fixed 5 year deal
