Great rate, great service

5
Having taken out a mortgage with Nationwide in 2013 I was due a review after my fixed rate was coming to an end. In the review the Nationwide staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining the situation and what they could offer. The bottom line: they gave me a rate that means I can still pay what I've been paying for the last 5 years but because of the lower rate means I will be mortgage free sooner than expected having wiped 8 years off the term. In addition, I got £100 cashback for my loyalty. Reviewed on: 1st May 2018

Updated app with handy new features

The latest Nationwide iPhone app has been developed well - handy money-in/money-out feature to show how much has went in and out of my account; cool fingerprint ID for security; and even easier to manage my various accounts! Keep it up Nationwide! Reviewed on: 17th August 2016

Top customer service to relieve concerns

5
Missed a loan payment after forgetting to transfer funds from another account. After paying the missed payment via debit card via the automated system I received several texts to contact them in regards to my account. Rang the Nationwide and explained the situation and they put my mind at rest straight away explaining that the transaction may take a few days to process but it's nothing to worry about, and to ring them again if it doesn't go through by next week. Easy access and great customer service

Having been self employed for a number of years I decided to open up a business banking account. Having researched the market I eventually went with Barclays who offered easy access both online and in-branch. Overall I've been fairly satisfied with my experience - I was particularly impressed with the level of customer service in-branch where they are keen to sort things out as quick as possible. Mobile app comes in really handy!

Whilst I've had an account for many years without any issues, a more recent helpful addition I've started to use is the mobile app. Generally its a really good tool for moving money around my various accounts quickly and means I can keep a constant eye on my savings. Reviewed on: 25th August 2015

Offering and rates are fine but communication needs improvement

3
Having booked to have my front door and some windows replaced in my house from a service company they offered me the ability to pay in installments using a loan from Creation. The work was done quickly and there were no issues over my loan; however, communication from Creation in terms of confirmation over the loan, repayment amounts and repayment dates were not sent to me until after the work was done and even then the direct debit was set up without confirmation of what exactly was happening. Postponed by mortgage payment automatically

Recently forgot to transfer money into my Nationwide account for my mortgage payment and when Nationwide tried to take it out they reimbursed me it as it went into minus but notified me so I could put the money in. Really helpful and they didn't charge me a penny for the error! Reviewed on: 19th March 2015

Cheap insurance for my iPhone 5S

4
I used Insure&Go to insure my iPhone 5S after being appalled at Vodafone's own insurance costs as well as generally high prices across the market for iPhone insurance. Never had to claim so not sure how good they are in terms of claiming, but the price of insurance given what it covers is a bargain! Reviewed on: 5th February 2015

Not the cheapest option but convenient for me

Even though Nationwide didn't offer the cheapest home insurance (it was mid-priced) it was a recognizable brand with good cover. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2014

Quick and easy process, money transferred within 2 days.

Recently got a loan from Nationwide for some home improvement. The application process was quick and simple (although I am already a Nationwide customer), I got accepted instantly and money came through within 48 hours. Online customer service was a good addition during the process to answer any queries. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2014

Great account service, easy to manage.

I opened a Nationwide FlexAccount when I began saving for my mortgage and it was all manageable online. There are some good benefits as part of the account (such as travel insurance) although I've not accessed them as yet it is good that they're available. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2014

Superb product and customer service

5
Having saved with Nationwide for the previous year or so I finally decided to take the plunge and buy my first home. The process was very straight forward and everything was explained to me clearly - once I'd been to my local branch to go through my options I applied in-branch and subsequently received several calls to update me on progress. Customer service was great throughout and it was a nice touch that they sent me a welcome hamper when I moved into my home. Reviewed on: 1st October 2014
