After leaving education and hoping to move onto a job, I decided to change my account to a Barclay's cash card account to get me started.
After speaking to staff online I was told I was a credible candidate for this type of account. I therefore travelled to the bank (the nearest one was still pretty far from where I live) and was told that there was no way I could get this type of account because I didn't have proof of a address. Now, being a student living at home I didn't pay bills so didn't have my name on the rent slips. (Something they told me to provide!)
They made it very difficult for me, and I found it quite uncomfortable (especially as this was all taking place in the foyer, amongst other customers).
In the end I left, without an account and quite understandably upset!

This account is perfect for simple everyday use. Simply put money in your account and withdraw when necessary. It's easy to use, easy to transfer money to others and perfect for on-line shopping . Definitely recommended this to about four people already!
